Kids On Fire Hosts Children & Teen Workers Conference in Lagos to Equip Those Raising the Next Generation
Children, teen and youth ministry workers, pastors, parents and teachers gathered in Lagos on June 20, 2026, for the Children & Teen Workers Conference, organised by Kids On Fire, founded by educator and children’s ministry leader Yejide Ipadeola.
Held at The Sphere of Influence Hall, KONAC Building, Lekki, the conference was themed “The Awakening”, with the charge “Be Equipped & Empowered to Raise Kingdom Champions.” The gathering focused on equipping those who teach, disciple and support children and teenagers with renewed vision, practical knowledge and tools for more effective ministry.
The conference featured Debola Deji-Kurunmi of Fire Brand Kids, Yejide Ipadeola of Kids On Fire, Becky Fisher of Kids in Ministry International, and Gbemisola Agbato of Solid Teens and Youth Initiative, who ministered to participants from different areas of children and youth ministry.
Speaking after the conference, Mrs. Yejide Ipadeola, founder of Kids On Fire and convener of the conference, said the gathering was created from a desire to strengthen those entrusted with the next generation.
“We cannot afford to treat children and teen ministry as business as usual. The world our children are growing up in is changing, and those entrusted with them must also be willing to keep learning and growing. The Awakening was about equipping, refreshing and empowering those who serve children and teenagers so they can return to their ministries with renewed vision and practical tools.”
The conference reflects the wider vision of Kids On Fire, which goes beyond direct engagement with children to developing the people and resources that support their growth. Through books and devotionals for young people, curriculum, learning resources, training and conferences, the initiative creates different pathways for children, teenagers and the adults who serve them to learn and grow.
According to Ipadeola, investing in those who work with children creates a multiplier effect, as better-equipped teachers, ministry workers, parents and leaders are able to influence the young people and communities they serve.
The Lagos conference therefore served not only as a gathering for ministry workers, but as an opportunity for those entrusted with the next generation to pause, learn, reflect and return to their work with renewed purpose.
For Kids On Fire, The Awakening was ultimately a call to recognise that raising Kingdom champions requires more than passion. It requires equipped people who are prepared to keep learning, adapting and intentionally developing the next generation.
